more power with s4 TII rotor in s5 TII engine?
Hi there.
According to some informations from a rotary racing expert using S4 turbo rotors in a S5 turbo engine can produce up to 30% more power. Thats because the S4 rotors have a deeper cavity resulting in more space for the air:fuel mixture. The inlet-port should close 3° later and outlet-port should open 3° earlier and close 2° later. Thats about it.
For that purposes Mazdaspeed allegedly even has special racing rotors with 3900 to 3950g weight and 8.4:1 compression (S4 serial rotor 8.5:1; S5 9:1).
Anybody heard that before?
Harry
