Sometimes i feel like my car gives me some damn hard to diagnose problems...and its usually all at the same time. Thanks for all the help so far some of you have given me.

When my car is off, and im workin in the engine bay (or somewhere near it, i will hear a loud 'kching' sound coming from around the top/rear of the engine. This happens when the engine is cold/hot/warm..you name it.
also, EVERY time i turn the key to the ON position, i hear the same clicking. It also does it very periodically when setting my TPS. Can also sometimes hear the spark plugs fire when starting the car.

more info:
The car idles now from 1400-1800 going up to 1800 and dropping back to 1400. I took off the air filter so the MAS is just sitting there, and i poked the cone part that moves and the idle jumped down to 800. Then i poked it a little harder and the engine died.
