More electrical advice needed... I've got a bit closer to getting this 13b running
Here is the background: Nearly done with a 13b swap from an S4(1986) into my 79' SA. Engine in, power is attached, Injectors seem to be working, CAS works, sputters but won't start.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I know what the problem is more or less. I'm gettin the wrong voltages at the ECU plugs, all the sensors seem to have more volts than they should. The AFM and the temp sensor, boost sensor, and other connected in line are not working obviously due to the incorrect voltage readings at the ECU plugs.
I'm try to figure out how this voltage is wrong? The FSM says that the ground plug on the 2nd ECU plug, Brown and black wire, should be a ground and read 0 volts. It registers 12v. That can't be right? The ground should read 0 I would think.
I read another post where someone had said that their AFM went south and was sending voltages all over the place, could this happen? I doubt it's my problem.
I've got the entire harness on the passanger side pretty much intact, so I'm really confused at to how anyting could be my fault... as far as hooking power up to that side of the harness. Does power tie in to the passanger side sensors anywhere other than from the main relay? I know that power is sent to the injector resistors from the B/Y wire from the ignition stuff....
I hope I'm not being too confusing... I know I"m confused
