Question Money no object...what would you do?

Assuming you're setting the car up for pure top-end speed, not necessarily off-the-line acceleration, and if money were no object, what would you do? What's the most HP you could squeeze out of a 13B?

I have a '90 GXL in storage that hopefully someday I will do something nasty with. Every once in a while I get nostalgic and browse this board, and today is one of those day.

Sigh.

If your sticking with your NA I would take the engine out and have it fully rebuilt to handle anything and get it ported real good(type of port depends on what you will be using the car for). Then I would get a haltech put in with some larger injectors, better fuel pump & regulator(hey he said money is no object ) That would put you on the safe side for anything. Ok then get a true-dual header & run straight pipes to whatever mufflers(or none). Then I would get myself a supercharger setup from www.atkinsrotary.com . Then I would get myself a small shot of NOS. Oh ya and with pulleys, an electric fan, intake, cold air box, short shifter, lose all the weight I could & put some nice 17" rims(wider in back) with good tires(drag radials for the strip). Get a good clutch with a light-weight flywheel. Personally I would get the gearing changed too. Then I would get the RE Amemiya front end(you all know what I'm talking about) and get the car painted carolina blue. O and can't forget the custom interior Damn I could spend alot of money.

I wouldn't turn it into a turbo, I'd go buy a high quality turbo to begin with. I could tell you what I would do but its really long again prolly & not worth it if you would keep your car anyways.

13B Turbo PP. Rebuild engine to stay safe up to 12K. Set idle at 2K. HUUUUGE turbo. N2O for spooling in 1st. Lower gear in diff for top speed.

Racingbeat has already got a second gen to go as fast as it will ever go probably. So if that's what you're after; good luck!

I'll build an Ultima GTR and stuff it with R26B
or a custom 4 rotor engine.

I think that car is kinda ugly IMO. I would take it and drive it no doubt, but there are much better looking cars, many many better looking ones.

if money is no problem and u only want top speed and still wanna keep the 13B

then throw away everything else and redesign ur body, so it can achieve a high top speed

with a right body design, a 100hp engine car can have a top speed of 200mph +

JATO => Jet Assisted Take Off <something or other>

AF uses em to help the big cargo birds get off the ground on short runways.

Don't you read Darwin Awards? Some AF guy strapped one to his car in the middle of a desert. He hit 400 mph before he was able to react (too many Gs) at which point he hit the brakes which pretty much stripped off his tires, axles, etc. Shortly thereafter he went airborne and rammed into a cliff about half a mile up. Only real evidence of the guy they found were the teeth they dug out of the steering column.

Hella fast, but a one way trip.

Titan 4

As earlier stated, if top end is all you're considering.....

Modify a Titan 4 launch vehicle to accept your FD on the front.

The first 17,000 mph FD ....... that gets 1ft/50 gallons on fuel consumption.

Yeeeeehaaaawwwww!

Screw nitrous ... give me liquid O2 propellant instead :-)

But the Ultima is not about how it looks (like A**, we know), it's about how it goes!
