Missing piece on the headlight

Recently I had to get a new headlight assembly for my car because the old one was pretty banged up from an old wreck.

Well, this one is missing the black plastic that covers the area over the light. The old one's plastic part was busted there.

Now obviously I'm afraid that without that there the wind will blow the cover right off when it is up. Especially since after attempts at tightning it, it would seem the piece still slides up some after the motor puts the headlights down. I'm afraid if I try this more, it will end up breaking and will have no way to be held on.

I don't suppose I can easily find this part sold by others... So does anyone have any ideas on some kind of ghetto rig for covering/protecting it? I'd half consider covering that part with black tape if not for thinking that'd be no good.

Just looking for ideas as right now since driving at night doesn't sound too appealing.

Thanks for any suggestions. I'll be messing around with it tomorrow...

Here's pictures of where the part goes:

At the moment I'm wanting a quick fix. So I don't feel like driving at night is a danger heh. I was also thinking people wouldn't be selling those alone as well.

I second that. I drove without them for a year til I finally located a set in a junkyard.

Really? I suppose that's good to hear. Though I do worry about it a little because whenever I move them down they slide up a bit when I shut and open them.
