Mismatched wheels: opinions?

This past weekend I picked up a couple 'vert wheels for the front of my car, it was looking funny with S5 TII's in th back and stock S4 bologna slicers in the front.

The general idea was to have 16x7's in the back for the bigger meats, while keeping a smaller, lighter wheel in the front (and take cheaper 15" tires.) The 'vert/TII combo is similar visually, and I like it... just curious what you guys think about it.

I've been running an Advan 5/BBS vert rim combination for a few months because I'm too poor to re-shod the other two Advans at the moment. I liked it initially, but every time I see some honda with mismatched stock rims, I like the setup less. But, I think the two types of wheels on yours are similar enough that most people won't notice the difference, for better or worse. It looks fine IMO.

Plans for that are in the works, just the funding isn't there yet.

Rustoleum over rustoleum auto primer. The stock Royal Maroon Metallic had degraded to a nasty pink in some areas, and flat black is a personal favorite... as well as very cheap.

You would hardly be able to tell if you powdercoated or painted the centers black and left the lip polished. =o) It still looks good.

They do look a lot closer without the centercaps, but without the caps looks kinda funny on it's own.

I forgot to mention, that wheel setup cost me under $200 total.

I think it looks like an unpainted car with mismatched wheels.

Great Answer.

The car looks fine. Just remember you have 16"x7" wheels in the rear and 15"x6.5" in the front. The BBS "vert" wheels are also substantially lighter

now that you mentioned the flat black.... i LOVE it!

if it was strictly for road racing, it'd be my first color choice

but, the weight balance!

Doesn't look bad for a car with mismatched wheels and primer. My car looked like that a year ago, except phone dials and bologna slicers in place of your wheels and gray primer. 17" TSW Evos and nice shiny black paint now.

I was thinking of running 17F and 18R because you can get a 35 series tire in a 18 no problem. I want to run a 9 inch rim with 265/35/18. I only found one tire maker that offers a 265/40/17 and thats Kumho. And I don't want the fittement problems with a 18 on the front rubbing. Anyone running a 17/18 combo?

IMHO, a 17/18 combo would look really odd on an FC...the car doesn't have enough visual heft to pull that off like a 300ZXTT or SupraTT would. Stick with 17's. !7X8 F, 17X9 R would look killer in the right offset.

aznpoopy had some mismatched wheels at one point. I didn't quite like it. Then again, they were extremely mismatched. Yours look similar enough. Pretty nice...

Meh...not really my thing =\

but it's your car bruh, if you like it that's all that matters

in terms of having mismatched wheels though, that's probably the nicest
