Minty FCs. How much would you pay?
Hey! What would you pay for a mint condition RX-7?
Would you pay bluebook? What would anyone pay for it? What should I ask for it?
The reason I ask is because most RX-7s I see for sale are hardly mint or original!
Here are some examples:
1) A 1991 RX-7 Convertable, Blue, 5 speed, and in absalutely mint condition. Garage kept with 40,000 original miles on it, only driven in nice weather. You heard me, mint. No tears in the top, nothing broken, nothing scratched. Non-smoker, no kids or pets ever allowed in the car. Maintained on schedule at the dealer. Runs perfect. Flawless. BONE STOCK. What should I tell her to sell it for? How do you think the value of the car has been affected just by its age? What do you think the reasons for this are?
2) A 1986 RX-7 GXL, Gold, 5 speed, and in neer mint condition. 112K on the chassis. Interior is totally mint, even the rear seats are leather. Brand new MAZDA engine. Not a single electrical or mechanical flaw. New AAS shocks. Fully loaded with every option. All reciepts kept. Even stuff that normally breaks on S4 RX-7s (Vents, S4 surround, power antenna, radio) is totally mint in this car. Comes with a warentee and it just passed Emissions and MD state inspection (LIGITAMATELY). BONE STOCK except for a custom leather shiftboot made to match the red interior. What would you ask for this car? How do you think milage affects the price you can ask?

I think you could get almost 8 for the vert if you found the right person. Maybe 6 or 7 to a forum member. It's a rare car for such low mileage.
The gxl... Unfortunatly it's not as rare. I'd ask 2000-2500.

someone replaced teh oem AAS..... man they must be die-hard. if its not urgent to sell eaither of them just throw out a high number and see who bites, then adjust acordingly. you'll only end up short changing yourself if you try to sell them too fast.
I agree, that is good advice.
Nither car has a motivated seller. The lady who owns the 'vert said she didnt mind waiting, and wouldnt sell at all if she didnt get a good price for it. I should also mention, she is the original owner.
The GXL is mine, and I'm not selling it any time soon, and I am the 'die-hard' who replaced the AAS on it
I even removed the aftermarket alarm. It is my "Totally stock RX-7 project" to make up for my 'vert. I am currently daily driving it while my 'vert is under the knife, then I plan to sell it. . . maybe. I like it too much :O (This car has shown me why people bought RX-7s in the first place
)
Anyway, thanks for your responses, keep em coming!

I know the vert could go for 7... cuz i met the lady here in MD with the same exact FC like mine except she had a sun roof and back seats.. she said when she bought hers.. it was 12K... and it came with no power steering.. i showed her undermy hood and she said that someone put power steering in mine.. so... i say the car can go for 7K..
