messed up idle

hey guys, my idle is all over the place. it becomes worse when the weather is warm. whenever i stop at a stop light, sometimes the idle is 1.5k, sometimes its 750... sometimes when i just start the car, it almost seems as though the idle is set to 0 for the first couple of seconds, and i have to press the gas to keep it running for those 10 seconds... now i've ran MMO through the gas and oil... so i think the carbon deposits have been removed... also have ran carb cleaner through... that didnt' do much... what could this be?
Thanks

have some one hold the idle steady at around 2K and then you take a can of "starting fluid" and spray all around the joints so to say on the intake and see if you notice a difference in the idle.. it will go up if the starting fluid gets sucked in... any other questions ask.. Dave
