Angry Messed up headlights

I have a possesed passenger side headlight motor. Sometimes the motor doesn't work and the light is not ever in the right position. The control arm on the motor is in the wrong position when compared to the motor for the driver side. What can I do other then replace the whole god forsaken thing? And if I have to replace it what is the best way to get down to the stupid thing?

There are limit switches internally, on the motors themselves, that must operate properly at each end of headlight travel to set up the electrical circuit for the next move. There also could be something physically stopping the assy before it can reach full travel- there are adjustable stops on the chassis behind the headlights, make sure the one in question is not hitting the stop before the travel is completed...Severely bent control arms may also be a possibility...

The lights go through the whole path that it should but instead of stopping, for example, in the fully up position, they reach the up position and then travel back down. Could this be because the limit switches you mentioned are not operating correctly. The control arms look like they are in good condition. I was thinking of just going to the junkyard and finding a new motor. I just don't want to have to get that thing out. I don't think they could have put the motor in a more unexcessable position.
