MBC on an FC

I am finishing up putting a 89 turbo engine in my car and I was wondering if I could use a needle valve for a manual boost controller. Also does anybody have pictures of their setup, just be kind of cool to see. Thanks

I was asking about a needle valve not a ball valve.
