Is the mazdatrix true dual worth the 35 horse? Or is the RB hdr and preslncr alright?
the header itself would be the collector if you are going with a single pre-silencer since the header collects into the silencer. I believe different lengths before the collecting make for the RPM at which the exhaust is "tuned" at. I have now Idea of what rpm I would like to tune my exhaust for and don't really care cuz I will always have a dual exhaust....
unless I buy an FB or FD then it will be a single.

Mazdatrix advertises a 28% increase in HP, on a stock port engine.
That's +44.8 HP on a S5, and +40.88 HP on an S4
divide that by the cost of the system (that made those HP #'s, being the HKS muffler system) which is $1438 + s/h
It comes out to be ~.03 HP per dollar... I think an UNTUNED collected exhaust beats the hell out of that; no matter how much 1987RX7Guy screams that he loves his duals.

Like I said I had the cash so I looked for the best I could get I dot the DUALs and they are wonderful. comming from stock exhaust they really scared me with the power increase but I guess that if I had a good collected exhaust before I would not notice that mush of an increase but I did not. I will always stand by them because I like them: they sound good, look good, and make great power. I understand that to most people it is not a good dollar/HP ratio but I did not care about cost just HP...hell...if you want dolla/HP...go get some Nitrous that will make you real happy..
untill you have to refill

ultimately it is up to you to decide what is worth it and what is not. I would say yes they are worth it.

I'm all for the duals, it's what I plan on putting on my car (although they won't have a name brand on them...but I thank them for the idea). We pretty much know (still not quite proven yet) that a wild single exhaust will make more power, but I like the dual setup that the car came with and I will continue to keep it that way
. I also like the stereo sound that you get with duals...as well as the better low and mid range (while still gaining high power...even though it's not as much as a single) power (useful for spirited driving and autocrossing). I would have to say to each his own...to me it's a good deal, to some it's just outrageous.
Either way...we're not putting in on it so we shouldn't decide for you
. You'll have fun with whatever you get anyhow
