mazdatrix....more expensive than dealers!

Just a quick fact, Mazda dealer (mine, located in Canada) sells a TPS sensor for $170 CND ...roughly $120 US...Mazdatrix...$180 US....whats the deal?

The deal is that you're lucky, because the rest of us get raped if we buy parts from the dealer. I think the dealer in NY wanted $240 for a TPS, and I got mine for $167 from Mazdatrix.

I agree w/ Unique. MAzda dealer wanted like $150 for the intake manifold gaskets, Mazdatrix only like $20 a piece.

depends on year/model

Must've been a going out of business or inventory clearance sale. What dealer is this???
Also, some dealers are using time/inventory/price software. Depending on demand(none), they will blow out what they have for FC3S and not stock it anymore. Sometimes dusty inventory is dumped to make room for all those new parts needed.

Parts.com lists 1/2 dozen or so Mazda dealers with prices(S4 NA) varying from $146 to $165 with a list/retail price of $173(all USA). I'd love to know what the dealer cost is (probably <$100 when you figure in markup).

My NA '91 TPS at Mazdatrix is $326. So, I bought a used one(actually 2, I collect spare parts). But it is $266 at www.autopartspeople.com

Sucks we get screwed by what we live for---American capitalism.

Yes,well it is a fact that Mazda Canada recommended list prices are generally lower than the Mazda USA recommended list prices. However it is fairly easy to get dealer discounts in Canada,25% off list if you are polite and friendly with the parts guy.

I would not be totally inclined to blame the dealers for the parts pricing. I seriously doubt that most dealers stock many RX7 parts now. Every single dealer acquired part I have gotten in North Carolina and Michigan had to order them after locating disitribution center with the item in stock.

The villan is Mazda USA. Since Mazdatrx has to have gotten their inventory from either Mazda or its vendors you have a better idea of Mazda's margin on RX7 parts. I suspect that dealers use a standard dealership software which came from Mazda and establishes MSRP.
Dealer tendencies to further discount for cash sale recognizes the absurd markup that program calculates.

God, I was just wondering. Don't tell me. Geez, pour some vinegar in my financial wounds

Well, if I ever need parts, then its time for a vacation and guess where I will go And it won't be south!

I got 25% off at Prima Mazda in Woodbridge,at Bayview Mazda in Pickering (before they closed)and at Durham Mazda.
Technicians typically pay dealer cost +10%.So Silverrotor I don't know who you deal with but there are better deals out there.
