Mazdatrix Aluminum Drive shaft

I was just wondering if anyone had this and if they can tell the difference between it and the stocker. Thanks

All the weight is in the center of the driveline, so the gain is minimal. It may be worth it if you driveshaft needs replacement. But not worth it if you are doing it just because its cool.

I don't personally have one.

the stock drivelines aren't all that heavy to begin with. a cheaper alternative would be a lighter flywheel, unless you already have the 9lb.

All U-joints are replaceable, you have to heat the cups up to melt the Nylon they use as a clip, and press it out like you would any other driveshaft.

^ Yup, but personally I wouldn't want to. old u-joints can be a real pain in the ****. Doing the drive shaft u-joints on my buddies 64 Volvo. lol. that is way too many years of rust to deal with, but ya can't find parts anymore for the car easily. SO gotta work with the old. If you're feeling bold enough, rebuild the stocker, if you are too lazy and have the money, buy the new...

incorrect, the OEM mazda u-joints are STAKED into the shaft and require machining to remove them.
