Question Mazda Remanufactured Engine

I checked today for a 1989 Turbo engine from the Mazda dealer and it was priced at $1995. It sounds like a good price. Has anyone purchased from the dealer? If yes, was it a good or bad experience. I am trying to decide a easy and viable solution finish my TII swap.

atleast with my reman, i had to give them my old one. it was a 1000 core charge, which i got back after mazda accpeted it. It's probably your best bet if you dont trust a rebuilder. Plus you USUALLY get a internal warranty with it aswell.

That's just for a shortblock, (or whatever the rotary equivalent is called) right?

Have a S5 TII Mazda remanufactured (rebuilt) in my '89. Installed in 2002. Only have about 5,000 miles on it, but it's great. They come with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. It was @ $1975 from Malloy Mazda with gaskets and shipping to Jersey. As it was going to KD Rotary, I didn't need give the $1000 deposit for core.
Remanufactured engine comes with :
Flywheel
Front cover
Main pulley
Oil Pump
Water Pump
Thermostat
Oil Pan

ONE OF THE BEST ENGINES FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, THEY USE PARTS THAT ARE WELL WITH IN THE SPECS OF MFG REQUIRMENTS, AND IF THEY DO NOT MEET SPEC, THEY REPLACE THE PART WITH A BRAND NEW MAZDA OEM PART. I HAVE HAD 2 ENGINES FROM THEM FROM 2 DIFFERENT CARS, THE ONLY REGRET I HAVE IS THAT I DID NOT GO WITH THEM ON MY FIRST CHOICE (HAYES) NOT TO MENTION....

I have heard great things, and the fact that they are built by certified mazda techs is awesome...its not some joe schmo slapping it together. But personally when it comes time for me to rebuild, I will ship my motor to Rotary resurrection for rebuild + streetport !!!

It was a while back but in 1996 my mechanic used a Mazda reman in my '90 NA. Absolutely no problems. I junked it with 78K on the re-built cuz the cooling system and body were shot. The rotary was still strong as an ox.

I'd do it again
