Manual sunroof
Manual sunroof
Searched but only found one thread that was very short. Has anyone done this to save some weight? Is it possible to just remove the motor and then use a window crank of some sort?
raising this thread from the dead because i havent been able to find any other answers. i want to do the same thing as the OP, but not to save weight (the motor is only like 3 lbs?)...but rather im having an electrical issue with my sunroof and the power motor gizmo seems to be busted to the point where its almost impossible to open it manually
i was wondering if i removed my power sunroof motor would i be able to swap it with a manual one where i can just manually open/close and not have to worry about the electrical/motor issues?
i dont want any 'fixes' because quite frankly i dont want to deal with the power sunroof anymore..if its not possible to manual-ize it, ill just do away with the whole thing and get some more head room if anything.

The sunroof is way heavy, I'm tentatively planning to get it welded up and pull the tracks and motor. On my car it doesn't work too good if it hasn't been cleaned and lubed in the last couple of months anyway. Is there a manual sunroof that goes in place of the factory one?
