Manifold question

Hey guys, I'm a 1st gen guy, but I'm contemplating a swap to an S4 manifold. The question I have is this: SE's have an air port on the bottom of the lower manifold, the S4 has it on the sides, this leaves a big hole in my block. I was looking and the S5 lower intake has it in the same place as the SE, thus covering the port hole. Can a S4 upper intake fit on a S5 lower intake?

Sorry, i have search and no real answers

im not positive, but I think the center-to-center spacing of the S5 manifolds at the split between LIM and UIM is different than for an S4. This is part of the reason why to put S5 or FD UIMs on an S4 you need a custom spacer

The port size is different on the S5 and S4 manifold, as are the bolt locations. With a little bit of work, they can be made to fit. I think you need to use the s5 fuel rails.

It's far from plug and play as you'll need to TIG weld more material onto the S4 flange for the stud.
