I spent a few hours redoing this, as I was getting a lot of hits on it, but the original was lost. It took me a while to figure out it's final configuration, but I think it came out alright - it was hard to incorporate all the info in the best format possible without causing too much confusion.

Great write-up. Thats exactly what "boost nOObs" like me need.
Turbo specifications, considering every manufacturer has their own "code" for naming each model. Like a T04 Garrett is the same as a Txx in turbonetics...its all confusing!
Ted - perhaps you can expand on what each component of a turbo means and how to interpret it. I.E. q trim, p trim, o trim, what the hot and cold side decimal number means and how to use it as a basisi for comparison among diferent models, etc...

Looks good. Pictures of each product shown standalone & installed would be nice if you can get them.
Seeing some of the custom exhaust manifolds installed on the engine would help newbs understand as well.

A few things I would try to work in:
As someone mentioned the turbin wheel trim differences especially O, P, Q and GTQ. Heck, maybe even the definition of "trim" as a ratio of exducer/inducer sizes.
I like to refer to this site:

as it has TONS of different turbos listed with their respective turbine and compressor wheel dimensions... it's gives a good relative size comparison between the turbos.
I would also make mention of the divded vs non-divided manifold issue and tunned equal length vs not as well. Rice Racing had some really good posts on this which I can try to dig up if you might be interested in some of the info.
I'd be happy to help write somestuff up... and then you could edit it rather than having to generate everything on your own.

From a turbo newbies point of view...
Theres definately alot of good information there. My experiences with turbos are very little. My Starion has one and my RX-7 has one.
I understand some basic concepts being different turbines will push more CFM at different rates regardless of the PSI being shown... Which is what makes a 14a different then a 16g (I think some were called.)
I really don't know if any turbo upgrade would benefit me in anyway on my car, being stock setup.
Lets say my turbo were to go bad, would I benefit at all to upgrade to one of these turbo's and just not run any boost above stock. Until I have supporting mods etc. Or would it be better to find a junkyard special replacement. Would any of these replacement be direct bolt up, including cooler lines etc. (I read a little bit on there but it mostly pertained to useing an FD kit on an FC I beleive..)
One of these kits mentioned it had an "Internal waste gate" would that mean if I bought that kit I wouldn't need to port the waste gate to keep boost creep from happening? Or does it mean it uses the waste gate still on the car? (Sorry if im sounding really dumb on the subject... I don't know how dumafied you want your page to be.
)

You should include how to calculate if the turbo is right for your engine and what all the detailed specs mean and how it affects the turbo. And for each turbo you should try to find out generally what rpm it makes full boost at, get some compressor maps for the turbos, etc.. all that good stuff...

It seems that when calculating turbo size using the compressor map it works to consider the rotary as a 3.9 liter rather than 1.3. Like the GT35R is made for 3.0-4.5 liters..
