main relay

so i went to leave the track and made it 50 ft out the entrance. got home and found no pulse at the tach. and no power at the coils. can still hear/feel the main relay clicking. what else could this be? or is the main relay clicking and not making the conection, or plain bad relay?

thanks

If the relay clicks then first check the EGI INJ fuse if an S4 or the single EGI fuse if an S5 to see if they are good or not if they are good then report back and state whether the car is an S4 or S5.

all fuses are good, s4 n/a n326. power going in is good at 12v, coming out is .5v at relay, coils, injectors.

The three voltage wires going to the relay should be B/W (this particular B/W wire is in a two wire plug along with the Black ground wire), B/G and W/L (found in the 4 wire plug along with B/Y and B/W). B/W has voltage w/key to on (two wire plug) while B/G and W/L are constant voltage. The two wires coming out of the relay which have power w/key to on are B/W and B/Y. These two wires are in the same plug as B/G and W/L (4 wire plug). With key to on does the B/W wire at the emission solenoids have 12 volts or the same .5 volts as found on the B/Y wire? Are you sure the relay clicks with key to on?

i'm sure the relay clicks (its mounted in the cab), (two wire plug) have power on one side B/W wire iirc, not on the other side, the 4 wire plug, only power coming in.

i have put my hand on the relay and felt it clicking while turning on and off of the key.

is it possible i'm losing the IGN switch?

The B/W wire in the 2 wire plug has power only when the key is to on so that tells you the ignition switch is doing its job. The Black wire in the 2 wire plug is the ground wire and you say the relay clicks so that would validate that the ground must be good. Remove the relay from its mounting bracket and disconnect the 4 wire plug (while the 2 wire plug is still connected) and w/key to on look at the 4 wire plug such that the nub on the plastic plug is situated on top. Then check for continuity between the upper right and lower right terminals as there should be continuity. Do the same for the upper left and lower left terminals for continuity.
