Main Pully bolt won't budge
okay for those who have seen my post you know that i changed out my front cover gasket, ingoring the problem with the needle bearing, so today I was trying to take my main pully bolt off to measure hub protrusion but it won't budge, could this mean my needle bearings have droped? I took an impact wrech to it full power didn't even move, when I installed it I used an impact set on the 2nd to lowest setting which is 90 ft/lbs, so this sounds to me the needle bearing are crushed and is exerting the pressure outward........ any suggestions?

Still do not worry too much. That bolt has a history of being a problem child. There was a long post earlier this year about that bolt and how to remove it.
The method I use was ragged on by the professional set that visits this site. I use a Craftsman half inch drive breakover with the 19mm socket. I rest the breakover on the frame of the car, left side. Get in the car and bump the starter. Nut comes loose. ON my car it does. Others say it does not work for them. Might take two or three tries. Make sure the socket is on good and the bar straight and up against the frame.
I might try to find that post over the next couple of days. Might not. I still would not worry toooo much. Chances are the timing gear held it in place. Good chances.

okay I got the main pully bolt off, now I'm trying to measure hub protrusion, but I'm havign trouble deciphering the picture

okay the front of the engine is on the left, e-shaft on the left, but I bearly have 1 mm from the hub to the e-shaft is this bad? my car seems to be runinng fine

I cease to be optimistic. It HAS to be 0.096 or 2.44mm. If you read barely one mm, then you have the PROBLEM. You should have the bolt off. The washer removed. You measure from where the washer was resting to the end of the E-shaft. It has to be 0.096. The one mm sounds like the needle bearing has fallen. Thats why its only one mm instead of two point forty four. Measure again. Then suck it up and pull the front cover, cas, timing gear and install two new needle bearings.
I've never messed one up, but during assy of an engine double checked and found measurements similar to yours. Pondered it, then sucked it up and redid it. EAsier out of the car. Sorry 'bout that. Too bad its not spring. Its been raining in SA and it must be real humid and hot. Bad combination.

i used some wd40, a 1/2 inch craftman wrench and socket, a 5 foot hollow steel pipe to get leverage and put the car in 5th gear. I pulled like a mother and it finally came loose after making a gun shot sound so loud my ears rang for 30 seconds. One hell of a bolt!

I tried to get mine off for a few hours before just saying hell, better get this back together before i have to goto work.... might try the starter trick though...
