Main cat question

I was going to put my main cat back on my 91 base auto but wasn't sure if the main cat I still had in the garage was the same one. The length is the same but it has no air pipe going into it. Do all 7's main cat's (2nd gen's atleast) have the line going to it for air to be injected into it from the back of the engine?

Thanks in advance. I'll paypal the first person who can link a decent picture of a 91 main cat for an auto

Tim

I had a '90 GTU automatic and it definitely had the air tube on the main cat for the split air pipe from the factory. I don't have the car anymore and I don't have any pictures of the cat. Over the years, I had two different aftermarket high-flow main cats (Bonez and Random Technology) on the car and both also had air tubes because I wanted to keep the emissions system intact.

thanks guys on the info, not sure where this cat I have came from then since it doesn't have an air tube (but does measure the same at the straight pipe I have on the 91 atm). Plus the fact that I've been totally rotary since 94.

I guess it could have been from an FC with a custom exhaust and the emissions removed. When I bought the Random Technology cat, there was the option to get it with or without air tube inlet for setups with emissions deleted.
