Main battery ground and starter question

I've got an 89 vert with a JDM S5 TII engine swap. I'm replacing my battery ground. The factory clamp was worn enough that it couldn't be tightened down enough. The ground wire grounds at the bottom of the driver's side shock tower and then continues on just above the starter. I can't get a good look at it from either under the car or thru the engine compartment. I can see the factory crimp ring is just about shot. The wire has pulled out of the crimp ring almost entirely. But I can't get a good look at what the crimp ring is bolted to. Is the ground going to a bolt on the starter? Is it a bolt that holds the started to the engine...or a bolt specific for the ground? Also after getting under the car I see that my starter is missing one of the bolts holding it to the engine. Can anyone tell me what size bolt and thread the starter uses?

Any one of those bolts is fine. Generally they are connected to the long bolt that secures the starter through the bellhousing.

You will probably find the starter bolt size in the thread pitch article located in the Archives.
