Magnecor wires - time to change?

I know these have a liftime guarantee, but I started off with these on an N/A about 4 1/2 years ago and this same set has also been on my TII for 3 years.

I was thinking about getting some new NGK wires when I change my plugs to all 9EQ's.

Would I be wasting $$ on new wires?

I noticed a difference from the NGK wires to the Magnacor KV85. I did notice a difference. I know you can test your wires to find out if they are good enough.....you might just be going backwards.

My opinion.

They are not supposed to go bad, ever. You could check the resistance on them to test them, I have no idea what it should be though.

A spark plug wire is a spark plug wire is a spark plug wire...
The main thing you should be worried about is INSULATION resistance to arcing.

If your car is losing power due to the spark plug wires, they should've been changed a long time ago...

Everything I've seen/heard/read would indicate the Magnecores are a far better lead. Why would you replace them if you have no reason to suspect any problem with them?

But if they're already on the car, they must fit!

I think our members mentioned fitment issues from the 10mm wires where perhaps they are not clicking when one tries to snap them in and or the boot itself doesn't fit snug. All this could possibly explain why these wires tend to have higher EMI. Their 8.5mm might be a better way to go.

Yeah the 8.5mm KV85's are the way to go. The 10mm leads are overkill on a streetcar. The wire is exactly the same, it's just the insulation that's thicker for better protection from heat. If you've got 'em, you'd be mad to chuck 'em!

I have the 10mm and yes I dont thnk one or two click the same as the rest but they do fit snug and took 2 seconds to install. I really dont like how long they are. They could be like 6inches shorter but I think thats how they all are.
