Smile lsd pumpkin in an open diff housing?

I have an lsd pumpkin I bought off my friend and we're pretty sure it was from an '88 NA. I know it's not viscous. My question is... Will it fit in my 1990 s5 GXL housing and can I keep the same axle's etc... pretty much can I just switch pumpkin's and still be pretty safe.

I have to know because mine's going out anyway.

I don't have the whole housing I just have the internal gears to the lsd. That's why I have to know if the lsd gears will fit in where the open diff gears were.

as long as they both were non turbo, (or both were turbo), it should fit. But a Turbo diff won't work in a non turbo housing.
