LSD fitment

hi all!
i'm looking to buy a t2 LSD for my 89 GTU(PS: basemodel. NO LSD, only 1987-1988)
but does t2 LSD fit an n/a car??
does regular n/a LSD from gtus or something fit directly on my GTU?

gotta search dude. help yourself before we help you out. some people will go NUTS!!!

but yeah they'll fit. you need to stick with the same series though. You also need to change the ENITIRE rear end...axles, diff, and drive shaft too if I'm not mistaken. S4 n/a LSD will bolt up to any S5 or S4 n/a (just the diff is all you need).

your GTU has an LSD, why do you want the TII one?

No, it is not a direct bolt on swap. some redrilling of the flanges would have to be done. Why do you want to use a t2 lsd anyways?

oh someone is selling a t2 lsd.
but 1989 gtu is a basemodel for this year
and i know this gtu does not have lsd
only 1987-88 GTU had lsds
so i guess a n/a lsd will be direct bolt up for mine?

The easiest bolt in would be a GXL LSD. If you went with a TII diff you'd need the axles (they are shorter) and the driveshaft flange is larger on the TII diff so you have to figure that out too. I put an S4 TII diff in my '87 Sport, but I'm building a custom driveshaft.
