well it idles fine it's just when i put it in drive or reverse the idle drops right down to almost zero like it's gonna stall.
the car is an automatic.
there are no driving problems,just really low rpm.
oh the car is a 1990 n/a coupe


also in the mornings the car will rev up and down for a bit then go to normal idle
in a honda its the idle air control that is bad?

 

Mine does the same thing. My temporary fix, right foot gas pedal assist. This is not the option of choice. Try cleaning the BAC on the drivers side of the dynamic chamber. Yours may be clogged or sticky causing the low idle when in gear. I cleaned mine out good and it didn't fix the problem for me. One thing that is interesting is how sometimes the idle will be low like it wants to stall and then other times it will be 750-800 and act normal. Maybe a vacuum leak would also cause this problem too.
