Low fuel flow or high for 86/87 turbo?

"Note: For higher fuel flow in an 86-87 1/2 Turbo or Non-Turbo, the 84-85 injectors may be substituted in either the primary or secondary position (Not recommended in primary). The cutoff for 87 1/2 is June 1987 and splits at VIN #7601. The SE injectors will NOT work in engines after this VIN numbers"

Am I understanding this correctly? The note above states that vehicles made before June of 1987 require high flow injectors? If so, then where could I get them? I need 2 injectors, and I can get 2 used ones that are low impedence (which i assume means the same thing as flow right?) So how do I work with the 2 low impedence injectors to work on my pre 1987 s4 turbo?

Impedance is not the same as flow.

The 84-85 GSL-SE injectors are low impedance 680cc. Stock injectors on a TII are 4x 550cc. So they GSL-SE injectors are higher flow. If you wanted a bit more fuel under boost, you can swap in the 680's.

The reason they are only swappabale up to a certain VIN# range, is that Mazda changed to high impedance injectors after that.

Ok so I will be able to use the 2 550 cc low impedence injectors out of a 87 turbo 2, because Mazda has switched to high impedence after my car was made right? And since the injectors i'm buying arent high impedence that means I can use em. Or does this only apply to using 680 gsl-se injectors?

I am so noob!!! :P sorry

Hahaha! ok now it makes sense, but now I have doubt on which injectors to buy because mazdatrix has two different injectors that they sell for 86-87 and 87-88 turbo's. What is the difference in those and can I use them interchangebaly? <-- spelling.

so just a simple question, do i need to worry about which injectors I buy or not for my pre-june rx7 turbo, I dont want gsl se injectors, i just want stock injectors to make the car work.

Thank you

Just simple question:

Do I need to worry about which injectors i buy for my 87 t2? All I want are some stock 550 cc injectors. Does it matter if I get them off of a after June 1987 rx7 turbo?

Yes, you do. You need to make sure that they have the correct impedance, otherwise you will have to make modifications.

This is from Rotary Ressurection. Shows what you can do to modify your injectors: http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/ro.../injector.html

Year type impedance plug style plug notch position flow rating color part number

Well, let's see. Is 1988 before or after mid 1987?
