losing fuel pressure after 5000 rpm and now car won't start

While I was getting my car tuned (Series 5 FC3S) we found that the fuel pressure drops from 45 psi all the way down to 0 after 5000 RPM. I decided to take a look at the fuel pump (walbro 255 lph), but couldn't find any issues other than the end of the hard feed line hadn't been cut and replaced by a rubber hose (I guess this method is favoured by most people). I had to order a piece of submersable fuel hose and while I was waiting, I left the fuel pump assembly on a rag in the trunk. Once the hose arrived I installed it and put the fuel pump back into the fuel tank.

After all of this, I tried to start the car and all I got was a few sputters and a big back fire. I tried again and the same thing happened. On the third try all I got was the engine cranking. I figured that the engine was flooded, so I pulled the EGI fuse and unplugged my fuel pump and then pulled all 4 plugs. They were soaked!! When I pulled leading plug #2 I actually heard liquid leak from the engine and hit the driveway!! I put the throttle to the floor and cranked the engine over for about 15 - 20 sec. I could see all the fuel vapor comming out the the engine bay, but it didn't go away, it just kept coming!! I cranked the engine again....still more fuel. A third time......still more fuel!! I cranked it a fourth time and decided to try to start it again. I had some spare plugs since I'm sure the other ones are fouled and I put some 20W 50 in the 2 lower spark plug holes. Once everything was back together, I tried to start the car and there was no change!!! Just the engine turning over and over.

Is there a different way to unflood an engine when you are using a Haltech (I have an E6K)? While the fuel pump was out of the fuel tank, the tank itself was open.....is it possible that condensation got into the engine through the fuel tank?? Is that even possible and would it even make a difference????

I've got to get this thing running so I can store it before the snow hits. Any help would be great.

Thanks!!!

hey mate

ive had major flooding issues before with my fc.. its sorta an extra when u buy an fc
i also had fuel **** out of my housings and a puddle end up on the floor
i have de-flooded my engine the same way you have tried to:
1. remove egi fuses (make sure ign is out too) and plugs
2. crank over (i did for about 30 secs, 4-5 times)
3. i primed the rotors with atf fluid
4. cranked over with fuses and plugs out
5. more atf fluid
6. put fuses and plugs back in (make sure plugs are still usable, or buy new ones)
7. foot to floor and then tried to turn car over
8 (best to avoid this step). check compression! and hold ur breath for the numbers.

i had to do the first 6 steps twice before i put my foot to the floor and tried starting, and this seemed to work. i would honestly keep cranking till its bone dry. i left a few days inbetween a my cranking engine with fuses and plugs out

my mate suggested to me, could be a few things:
1. leaky injector/s
2. bad tune (i have a microtech and apparently tuners did not tune my cold start map)
3. low voltage on battery OR voltage dropping when cranking (not enuf cranking power and ur car flooding itself again) iirc, voltage should be ~10v to while cranking

regarding ur pressure issues, im not too sure, but i would assume something is up with the fuel pressure reg..

condensation got into the tank? even if it did, i could not see an issue with this at all. if ur flooding ur engine, u know that there is definately fuel going to the block, but just to make sure, check fuel lines, make sure nothing is kinked. even replace ur fuel filter, it may be full of crap.. theyre cheap anyways

i know how annoying it is
