Looking for an S4 (88) Vert Owner's Manual

I'm in Scottsdale/Phoenix looking for an owner's manual. I'm hoping someone is close enough for me to "network" and at least look at it to answer some questions on convertible top operation, basic maintenance, and other simple stuff. Anyone around here?

Cordially,

Jeff

If you look at the 2nd gen FAQ you can find links to get the whole factory service manual online.

I have a FC Hayes manual, not sure if there is a different book for the coupe and vert, but you can find them at Checker.

Or like Longshoe said, just download the PDF from the web.

Might want to watch eBay for one. They come up from time to time. I see there's a guy offering one right now with a $65 Buy It Now which seems a little steep. Maybe he'd be open to a counteroffer. You could also post a "Wanted to Buy" ad in the classified section of this site, if you haven't already.

hi jeff

just got my owners manual BACK after loaning it to a newbie for 3 months...

won't do THAT again, but i can share it with you, specifically...

-can copy/mail the pages relevant to whatever issue you need.

-can scan and email the same pages OR photo pages and email...

the whole thing is ~100 pages but if you list your needs or questions, we can focus just on those pages.

HERE is a link to an online source for the s5 topless specific owner manual stuff...

http://www.cabrio7.org/rx7man1.html

but MANY of the switches and operational bits/info CHANGED from the s4.

still there is good stuff included on some of the basics from the owners book.

I may have an extra one.. but upon second thought I think it's an eighty-six manual. I'll have to check to make sure.

There is no such thing as a Vert specific owners manual. The factory owners manual's are all designed to cover all models. That's why certain sections will say something like "If Equipped".

As a resource as you request, any RX7 owners manual will do the job to the extent it can to reach your reference goal. I will say the few differences between a S4 Vert and S5 vert is:

Opening and closing top control:

S4 **** just above the wiper control
S5 Switch on the center consol
In both cases, the hand brake needs to be engaged before the top control will operate.

Factory alarm light

S4 On the center consol
S5 In the idiot light cluster

Cruise control

S4 and '89 S5 - Control and engage button on the speedo bezel

S5 otherwise - Control on the steering column, engage button just above the wiper switch.

That's pretty much it.
