Looking for Ideas/pics to screen openings to FMIC

I've finished ducting the vunerable areas In and around my cooling system. I'm happy! Awhile doing this I began to think of various ways to screen the openings of the bumper with some kind of wire screening. With my FMIC being what I want to specifically address I am looking for pics or links to where I can buy different types of this mesh and to see the finished look. Any help on this would be much appreciated.
if this is the case, i'll let you in on an idea i've had, that i plan on doing to my 7...
it starts with black nylon porch screen, squished between black metal mesh (not chicken wire), and finally either a frame or fasteners to hold it in...
this way it would be removable, so you can blow the bugs out of it every now and then...
if you are not trying to hide your intercooler, disregard my post... lol

I have purchased from this company before when I needed unusual mesh for boat projects, just be sure to measure carefully, when you want the mesh running a certain way you might end up needing more material then you think.
You can adhere it with the 2 part adhesives they repair bumpers with, it dries in minutes. To avoid having to purchase a dispensing gun and a entire tube of adhesive consider having it all trimmed and ready to go, then let a local body shop glue it for you.

Probably very effective as a debris inhibitor but for the same reason, very effective as an airflow inhibitor as well.
i'm not suggesting that the dude uses an inch thick amount of porch screen...
are you even familiar with the material?...
the stuff can hold up to hurricane force winds...
done correctly it will not inhibit airflow...
not to mention, that it will keep bugs and rocks off of the intercooler...
i was simply suggesting that one layer of this placed between some wide gaped metal mesh would help hide the intercooler as well as give it a finished effect...
sure beats painting the intercooler...

Of course I'm familiar with the material.
There is absolutely no way to install it and not restrict airflow...can't be done.
Obviously, the density of the mesh has a proportional effect on the airflow through the material and, unlike a greenhouse window, we have forced airflow (i.e., moving vehicle) on our side but there is no denying that the mesh cuts airflow under all conditions.
Since the intercooler is already blocking flow to the radiator and oil cooler, further restricting flow with a fine mesh windowscreen type material doesn't seem like the best of ideas to me.

here's an idea clokker...
get an industrial fan, sit on your back porch, with the fan on the outside...lol
in my opinion a minimal screen setup, done correctly, far outweighs painting an intercooler... heat transfer would be far greater with this setup...
i'm not trying to twist anyone's arms, i'm just simply giving suggestions to a post titled "Looking for Ideas/pics to screen openings to FMIC"
that being said, do what you will...

I don't pretend to know what effect a setup like yours would have at speed...maybe minimal, maybe not.
While standing still or in traffic, where the airflow is being pulled through the various heat exchangers rather than being forced in from the front, I'd guess the restriction could be very detrimental.
That said, I'm sure it would look good and be good at protecting the intercooler, so why don't you go ahead and try it.
Post results and prove me wrong...I'm gracious in defeat.
It would be great to have a screen over the fmic, I would like to have it on my car. BUT it makes the car look like *** in my opinion. My greddy fmic isn't installed yet but when I do, i'm sure a good wash every now and then should keep the fins free of debri.
glad to see you're a good sport clokker...
i may take you up, one day, on the offer to prove you wrong...lol
as for now, i'm having too much fun in the corners with my na to worry about a fmic...
i also agree about sitting still in traffic... luckily i have a koyo and a black magic setup...
even 30 seconds on black asphalt on a 100+ degree day can seriously increase intake air temps on a front mount...
