So what's to stop someone from turning the vent into a duct? By your thinking, NO hood, other than TII ones, are truly ducted unless someone fabs a custom duct for it. So that's not really a strike against it in my oppinion. I'd prefer one big vent though, would make it easier to duct.

 

You're right. I don't consider any of them to be ducted. I consider them all to be vented, with the exception being the stock hood. I mentioned that I was going to duct any hood that I bought or made, to the intercooler core. Then, if I decided to, or if I had underhood temp problems, vent the hood just behind the strut tower bars, right above the exhaust.

With the angle of my rad and the fan, that heat will be aimed down and hopefully just dissappear in the tranny tunnel at any decent speed.
