Lookin to buy an FC NA and need some help
Yesterday when I went to go test drive a 91 FC, while inspecting the car, I noticed that while the car was ideling the engine did two things, one I shock prety bad. Are the motor mounts gone? Also it sounded like the car was back firing, but it wasnt as lound as a back fire, im not sure what it was. I thought it might be the ideal, but the car was idelin fine, wasnt bouncing up and down at all. One more thing while the car was ideling, like at a stop light or somethin, the shift *** shock pretty bad.
Is any of this normal or whats goin on??
-Thanks
P.S. Does any one know any good mechanics in northern VA.

That "pop" you heard while it was idling is fairly normal to a rotary car..
The car MAY have a vaccume leak that would cause the engine to idle rough and shake..
The engine mounts probably should be replaced anyway.. but it isn't a big deal and they only cost about 30 bucks a piece.
The shift **** shake will die down when the engine shake is taken care of; BUT replacing the shifter bushings (really easy and cheap) takes the slop right out of the shifter.
