is it just me, or would takeing those big *** bolts out do more good than the polishing job????

You're supposed to use much shorter bolts that don't protrude into the airflow at all. They're probably going to cause as much turbulance as the old plates did. I highly recommend you replace with shorter ones them before you reinstall the TB. You've gone a bit overboard with the sealant too.

The porting and polishing looks good though. And I wish my linkages were still that shiny.

Haha don't worry about the bolts they will be cut and the grinded down. For some reason i couldn't find any shorter ones, so I just used those.

But thats why i said almost finished, got to cut them, grind then, then get rid of the lip, sand smooth and then re polish it.

Also working on poilshing the whole outside also while I'm at it.

When I'm done with this one, i will be putting this one on the car and then doing this to the one on the car now and selling it.

you may want to try chopping the bolts out completely...just clear them out, then cram the open holes w/jb weld, lump it out a little and let it dry for 24 hours...then dremel it down and polish it off to leave it a clean and smooth opening.

So far i have used teh heavy grit sanding tube things for the dremal to take out large amounts and then smoothed them down with the fine tube pieces. then I went over it with 400 grit paper by hand to smooth it some more. I need to finish it and then I will take 240 grit to it, then 400, then wet sand with 600 and then finally hit it up with somemetal polish, should bring it out to a mirror finish.

I would rather have the bolt all the way through with some JB weld holding them in instead. At least this way if the JB weld breaks and it gets sucked in its going to be only about a 1mm in size instead ofa big chunk. I will take some more pics tomorow when I finish it.

i dont think my jb weld is gonna be moving out of those holes that stuff is really hard. plus if you rough up the surface of the holes it will stick better. i dont have any worries with that stuff. no one should
