look at how I got my 7

I recently moved out on my own into my girlfriends house and I needed a car. I was looking for either a supra or a 7. My girlfriends dad new I needed a car so he started looking around with me. He cam home from work one day and said I got you a car. Apparently, his friend who happens to be a mechanic was short on money because he was being taken to court and ended up selling me a 87 gxl with 180,000 miles on the body and about 20,000 on a new motor for 550 bucks! not 5,500...but 550! Brand new clutch and tranny too. The only thing is that its NA. But hell, 550 for an 87 gxl with a new motor, clutch and tranny you cant go wrong!

mods

hell yeah, I just got a custom exhaust put on and all the other stuff I listed on a nother thread i think...eibach springs, hks injection kit, new plugs, wires, 16 inch wheels. The exhaust is a 2.5''DP new cat, straight through muffler that splits so I can still run 2 2.25'' straight pipes out the back. The only thing is that it has about an inch long rust on the door and a dent on the drivers side rear...other than that though...its all good...
what else do you guys think i should put on it...i got 3,000$ to dup into the project?

Drive the car as a daily driver for now.. don't waste your money on upgrades etc.. save the $3k you have.. then when a good deal on a T2 comes around, you can put your saved money towards that... Chances are, in the end you're going to want a turbo anyways

good point

god point chrisng. Im debating whether to sav my money for a tII or just go ahead and mod the **** out of the NA now. Im not into the serious racing at the track...just want to kick some ricer's 'heavily modded' car on the street. Was also thinking about street porting...any thoughts?

How many times have you gone out and purchased something for a lot of money, then a little while later kicked yourself cause you saw an oppertunity to purchase something "better" (I'm not tryiing to start a tw/na war here, He mentioned before he wanted a T2) but didn't have the cash to do it...

You were in need of transportation and found one for next to nothing.. that should give you plenty of time to just sit back and look for good oppertunities on the transportation you really want.. It is entirely possible to make an n/a fast.. in some cases, faster then a stock t2.. but you'll end up blowing alot of money and time doing so... and although you will end up having a "fast" n/a, it will never be as quick as a "fast" T2 .. A fast n/a is a good challenge for fast ricers, however a fast t2 is a good challenge for the "big boys" (ie: 5.0's, lt1's, etc) .. Cides, in the long run, it will probably cost you more money making an na quick then to purchase a T2 and mod it to be quicker ...

Just my 2 cents

What I would do,
is if you just want to show up ricers, wait to get a TII, cause you will get more power for less money than moddin the N/A. Then you can save the N/A for when you want to race, because you will be put against cars in the same class as you, not supra's and such. N/A's rule their class when it comes to endurance races, thats what i want to do in the future.

Node, how long's it take to drive from IL to PA? He's got 2 TII's, we double team him, i take the one that doesn't run, you get the good one. I prefer cars that need work
