long road trip... should I be worried?

I'm picking up a '91 TII in Atlanta Ga on sunday. I live in South Dakota...

It'll be 1200 miles to Minneapolis where i'm staying a couple of days. My friend and I are flying down to pick it up and figure we'll stop in the Indy area and get an oil change on the car done just for the sake of driving it on the interstate constant for so long to keep the oil fresh. Should I take any other preventative steps? The guy i'm buying it from 'says' the car is solid. The motor is in good shape and says he has had an oil change with mazda every month on the car.

yay! and i'll be a newbie again!

TIA -eric.

it has a 122k but rebuilt with a bridgeported motor. says it runs really strong. I won't be buying it if the motor isn't sound and the body is good. That's all I care about. I want a sound body without many dents and a motor that's going to run for a while. guess I'll know sunday when I get there

thanks again.

Bridgeported....Should be a real bear.
Good luck, let us know the outcome. If it has been taken care of, 1200 miles, no problem.
Be sure and get all the info/upgrades that's been done to the car.

I wrote up a checklist (with input from list members) for our SevenStock caravan from Florida to California.

You might want to take a look at it or even use it as a guide of things to check before you get on the road with it.

Sweet.. thanks for the checklist!!

some of the stuff on your list was just recently done he told me. and some of it I won't be able to be done until i get it back from the trip.

I plan on paying extreme attention to the oil level and engine temp.. I hate stock gauges though they don't tell you jack
