Logicon/climate control removal

hi everyone!
ive got a 86 GXL and i am about to start the removal of my stock radio setup..
i understand that i have to remove the vents and the Logicon/climate control.... how do i do this without breaking anything - lol.
is the surround for the Logicon/climate control seperate than the Logicon/climate control? or is it attached... if not atached, do i just pry it with a screw driveR? and if it is atached, how do i pull the whole thing out?
any info would be greatly appreciated, as i do not want to ruin m car - hehe

should be two screws under the ashtray, and two inside the vents. Once you remove all four, the surround should come right off. I'm 90% sure that its not attached in any way to the climate control.

First - the logicon is mounted behind the plastic surround, so it can stay in place.
Second - the plastic surround is VERY fragile.
Gently pry out the A/C vents to get to the top mounting screws.
Remove the ash tray to get to the bottom mounting screws.
Gently pry off the plastic surround.

The stereo sub frame is inside.
