a little help for the new guy
hey, I've got an 86 RX-7 with a newer engine in it. my problem is that i moved a year ago and left my car in my dad's care who flooded it. it's now been sitting for about 10 or 11 months and i want it back. what do i have to do?

go and get it. lol, if it was flooded, its been almost a year, that gas has evaporated, but now if there was gas in the tank when you left it, your fuel pump might be bad. put a new battery in it, turn ignition on, pull up back carpet slightly so you can see where the fuel pump cover is, feel it and listen for it. if nothing then your fuel pump is bad. also replace your spark plugs and wires. everything else should be good. my 86 sat for 3 years and all it needed was plugs, wire, and a fuel pump and filter

If it is still flooded, or it floods when you try to start it, remove the ecu fuse and crank it over (including taking out spark plugs). Then try to start. (SEE archive)
1 year your brakes probably arent seized, I'd suggest new fluid though.

depends on if it was left outside or in the garage..if it was outside you will have a little job on your hands..rust on the rotors ..I would inspect them though if you have left the car outside to the elements..you don't want to be goin down the road and have the brakes fail..you or someone could get hurt or worse..jack the car up at your dad'd place and look at the brakes ..it would be the safest way that way yo know that the brakes are good..also start off with fresh gas,new plugs and wires and fuel filter..a dab of ATF in the plug holes wouldn't hurt the thing either..while changing the plugs I would stick a little ATF in and roll the engine over and bit then do the rest of the work on it ..then lastly put the plugs in and try to start it..my $.02
