A little driveshaft help

I am installing my driveshaft and its been a while since I took it out. Are the studs suppose to face foward or aft and which nuts do you use. Are you suppose to use locking washers? Also, what is the torque for the bolts.

Thanks. I tried to search, but I am on 56k tonight. Grrr and its taking for ever.

I need this for tonight.

Well....

The bolts go in from the rear (nuts forward, bolt heads aft). I thought the original washers were weighted for balancing, but that may just be my imagination. The FSM shows just one washer, and it appears to be a split washer. Tightening torque is 36 - 43 ft-lb.

I'm not sure what you mean by your question about the nuts, but there's nothing special about them. I forget the size, but they're probably either 8 or 10 mm inside diameter.

the nuts go on the front, towards the engine, and they use lock washers

Thanks guys..That was really helpful. When I towed my car I guess I mixed up the bolts and I guess these bolts are shaped differently so they don't rotate...does any one have a picture of these bolt or can snap a picture for me.

I label everything else except my bolts...go figure.
