1. getting the white refrective lens.
you look for the 70'~80's volvo's refrector lens at a junk yard. (I got the lens from my friend, so it didn't cost me a penny!!)

2. taking the lens out.
taking out the carpet by unscrewing the two of size10 screw then you will see the two size10 nuts(the blue circles) on the body. take out the light housing by unscrewing the nuts.

4. taking the inner refrect lens out.
this is upto you taking them or not. i took it out before cutting off the lens so that i won't damage it while i cut the lens. use phillip screw driver and break the glued spots. stick the screw driver between the lens and twist it.

5.cutting the lens.
cut the lesn by using the tool with a cut-off disk. try to cut from the side about 2~3mm depth and cut as stright as possible. if it is not straight, use sand paper to make it flat.

6.cutting out the white lens.
i believe that some people have already got the idea of what i gonna say. this time, cut the white lens from the volvo's exactly same size as the red lens you just cut off from the stock lens. use the same tool i use at 5.

7.smoothing the edge of the lens.
as you know, the back of the white lens are very rough surface. so you have to smooth out the edge where it will be glued. i used the tool with the cylinder head as you see on the pic. try to shave as flat as possible.

8.glue them together.
before you glue them together. make sure that they fit very well without any stress. at this moment, you will realize that the white lens is not flat as you think. then you have to heat it with a kitchen stove to strech it flat.
now you can glue them together!! the glue i used is on the pic. you can try other glue if you can't find it. at the same time, you can also glue the inner reflect lens back.

cool write up. it looks good on the car. i think white lenses in small areas like the corner lenses and 3rd brake light look cool on most colors. your gonna do one on how you did your tailights next right?

9. wait until it dry.
just be patient.....wait at least 2~3 hours before reinstall it to your car(as you see on the pic, i put a weight on the lens). and don't forget to put the rubber back on the lens....you can use glue gun to attach them together or rubber glue.

10. reinstall it to your car.
i think i don't need to explain how to put it back on your car.......cuz you already know how!!

after you reinstall them, try many colour bulbs and see which one you like......i tried blue bulb and it was nice, but i don't wanna pull over by police....so i put red bulb for now. especially, it looks nice at night time.

ENJOY IT!!

OH, i forgot to tell you guys one last DIY.

use the same idea of making the stop light, you can also make the white front and back side lens with the remain volvo's lens(i only made front side lens because my car doesn't have back side lens). i don't have the pic of the side lens right now......but i attach my car's pic and you can see how the stop light looks like from different angle.

On a white car, I think it looks really good, and once I've got the time, I'm going to do it to mine.

I agree I think someone should make a blackout, like them GT covers you see on f-150's (little dark or tinted covers on head and tail lights) those covers would look dope on s5 tails.
