Unhappy likes to go between gears

my FC likes to go inbetween 3rd and 5th gear.... and now 5th is starting to grind a little, (so I've been driving it like a 4spd now) is that normal? for the shift lever to want to go between those two gears? or is it just something that was fubar on my ride? if it is normal, is there a part I can buy, or something I could have fabricated to keep this from happening again? because all the other cars I've owned 5spd ( Mazda MX-3, 02 Subaru Impreza RS, Nissan 240SX S13) none of them had this issue.

HELP PLEASE

shift bushings perhaps?

my shifter is so lose that i regularly miss third

remember that to get to fifth you push right, then up, not both at the same time

i had the same problum althoe it only occured when i was shifting much to fast ... it is possible tyo have an agressive shift without "throwing" it into gear .... take a little more time as 3rd is probably the most awkward of all gears to hit with a very fast shift ... so yeah .. shift a bit slower ... or get rigid tranny mounts and it wont hop around so much thus making it easier to hit the gears

Dont forget nice engine mounts also; the tranny does bolt to the motor...

I never had problems goin from 4th to 5th... just ocassionally it'd want to go inbetween 3rd and 5th when shifting from 2nd. almost like it's easier to go inbetween the gears than into one... I just found it strange that out of all the 5spd cars I've had this has been the first one I've had a problem with :P it is when I've been shifting faster than normal (normally passing someone on a 2 lane road, or gettin on the highway on a short on ramp). oh BTW rotary downshift, what do you mean 3rd is awkward? the only thing I think what's messing me up is that it feels liek I'm shifting back to frist... in a way... (of course all the cars I've owned prior have had longer throws)
