When i hit the brakes on my car, the lights dim and once my radio went off then came back on. Where should i start looking for electrical probs?

bad alt...

what is the voltage on the voltmeter on the dash when this happens??? Anything under 13.5 volts and the battery is not charging... Anything under 12.6 volts and you are running on battery power and the alt is not making enough juice to even run the car.

It looked like a strong 14V earlier this morning. I will double check in the morning.
