lightening flywheel

well im going to be getting my flywheel resurfaced, and im wondering how much material can be taken off of these, in other words how light can i get it without it flying apart

youll never be able to take enough off to feel a change. at most you might shave off as much as a stamp weighs, if that. We're talking .005-.010 of material, not enough to feel ever. Cleaning the clutch material dust off of it would take more weight off than machining it. Plus you can only go so far as the friction material is on a raised ridge, Go too low and you effect clutch hold and life.
