Light switch & parking light questions
Light switch & parking light questions
So my parking lights are out. Happened before but for whatever reason they came back on by themselves. Have a couple questions about figuring out the cause.
The dash lights are working
The dimmer feature is working
The turn/brake/headlights are working
1- Is it possible for the headlight switch to be burnt if the dash and dimmer still works?
2- Is it possible for the switch to be burnt if the power to the ILLUM fuse goes on and off with the switch?
3- Is there a ground wire for the parking light circuit of lights?
thanks for any help

1. Yes
2. Power to the Illum fuse is not switched. It is constant
3. Yes, a bunch of them. Grounds on the FC are generally Black wires (but always check, not all black wires are grounds).
BTW, the parking lights and dash lights are two different circuits. They use the same fuse, and the same switch, but are completely two different outputs from the switch and different things happen to them in the switch. The Illum fuse simply provides power for both.
And the headlights are completly different. They are triggered by a ground signal out of the headlight switch.
