Life of a shimmed diff

So im rebuilding a s4 t2 diff and am going to use the thicker clutch plates. The .2mm washers and the 0.1 clutch plates. Planning on dailying it autox and drift. Whats the estimated life of a diff shimmed this way. And im not using any coke cans as shims assuming theyd wear out fast

Some of the clutch plates will have a side that is worn and another that isnt. If you just flip them and shim it, it will feel like a brand new diff. I did the cheap beer can shimming and it still locks pretty well after 5 months and 2 hard track days. As long as you put them on the outside of the clutch pack where there is no friction they will not wear. My breakaway still measures at a good 90-95ft/lbs.

Been thinking about doing this as well Daric. It doesn't cost much to get a diff rebuilt and maybe adding a few new plates while it's in the shop wouldn't be a bad idea.
