Question Letting my car sit for a month

Would it be a problem? Because I'm going to Korea for a month during the summer. Thanks in advance

Unplug the battery so it doesn't get drained for whatever reason while you're gone, and possibly get all the fuel out of ur engine so it's not flooded when you get back (its happened to me before, dont ask me how or why). To get the fuel out just unplug your fuel pump and start the car, it'll die pretty quickly but that way there wont be any excess fuel just sitting in the engine the whole time.

i left my car in tucson for a month outside during the middle of december in a school parking lot for winter break (univ of arizona). i unpluged the battery, took the egi fuse and the radio out. and a month later came back and it started right up, and ran really well for some reason, i guess it needed a break. what i was most happy about was the fact the damn thing didnt get broken into or vandalized.

As well as being bad for the fuel pump, that's pretty pointless. No "nasty ****" is going to build up in the tank in a month. That takes years.

Other than disconnecting the battery, there is no need to do anything. It's only a month...

I got a fuel cut-off switch and always kill the car with the switch when I turn it off, so flooding is not a problem. So I guess I'll just unplug the battery then

I wouldnt be worried about 1 month Yohan. Thats a pretty short time. I would just take it easy for a few days when you get back, since the car hasnt been ran for a month.

PS... im going to norwalk this Friday night, its about 1 1/2 hours from Columbus.. good drag racing. Im racing an Evo8 for $100. Lmk if you want to go.

Hakan: ATF trick?? Would I have to do that just by letting the car sit for a month???

Scott: I'd love to!!! But I'll need an oil change first though... what time are you leaving? If I don't get an oil change in time, would you mind if I ride along with you? Also, is that a drag strip or just street racing? If you're racing an Evo, you'll need a good launch. Is that Evo stock?

Ive got a midterm at 1:30 and it wont take me longer than an hour so I was planning on leaving at like 2:30, but I am not going right to norwalk. I'm going home, which is less than 30 mins from norwalk. I could probably give you a place to crash since im so close to norwalk. It is a strip, and probably one of the best, there are big events there with like John Force etc so I know its a good place to go.

I got my oil changed at a place off 315 at the 161 exit. I know its not the best option, but it was like $40 and it was easier than finding jacks and finding an autozone etc. for oil and a filter and all that stuff that becomes a pain while in college. The guy who worked on it was actually a big enthusiast, and was pretty pumped to work on a nice car, im sure he was used to mostly minivans and boring cars. I made sure to slip an extra $20 hoping they took extra care. Sure I feel like a woman not changing my own oil, but who cares!
