leaking coolant help guys thx
yeah i finally have seen it with my own eyes that coolants were leaking underneath....(from the plastic cover underneath)
add coolant light turns on all the time...and yesterday i finally saw the thing leaking..
engine water seal is probalby a little bad also...smell fuel from the overflow tank..
i have been careful about the coolant lever the last month..
car didn't really overheated....just had to fill up coolant every 2 days or so..
so i took off the plastic piece underneath...and took out the radiator...all the hoses looks ok....thermostat and it's housing are fairly new...
water pump not sure (do'nt know how to check either, so help)
right now i have the radiator out....how can i check for leaks??
first thing obvious is that it's pretty dirty...birds feather and ****...(12 yrs old radiator).. coolants leaks from underneath when car is running... so how can i put like pressurize water into radiator to simulate the situation?? or radiator shop can do the test very cheap???
i am hoping that the leak is from radiator under pressure..
other things seem a pain to the *** to replace..do ppl have problem with radiator failure because that it's just old after all these years??
i am such a moron, i realized i should have turned on the car and let it idle, take off the plastic piece..and look for the leak underneath myself.. but it was kinda late at night..don't wanna turn the car on in garage and wake up all the neighbors..
if it's the radiator problem..i might go for a fluidyne one...it would be a nice upgrade..but i remember reading on the forum and someone said they don't fit well caz of the bracket or something...
anyone heard that also??
sorry for such a long post
help please..

When my car started leaking coolant it didn't always overheat right away, either. Gradually the problem got worse and the temp gauge was all the way up to the H and once the coolant was completely absent from the system.
I refilled everything properly and the next day it was more than half gone again.
It was definitely the water pump, and this would be my speculation for your problem. I'd recommend getting it checked out before the problem escalates and you risk engine damage. Due to my lack of knowledge at the time, I now realize that this was probably what caused my valve cover gaskets to go.

so if it is the water pump leaking problem, when u turned on engine and checked, did u actually see coolant vapor from the water pimp area??
because mine was leaking underneath from the plastic cover like crazy...didn't see coolant shooting out of the water pump area.
my main concern right is about actually leaking...not the disappearance of coolant...
