Is one of the lines leaking? Are the brakes really spongy?

Age.

Replace the caliper (if that's where it's leaking), replace the pads, rotors, and bleed the brakes (not breaks ).

WRONG... the brakes wont leak because of low pads.. if your pads are to low and that contributed to the leak that means the piston got pushed out of the boot which means u need to atleast rebuild the caliper or replace the caliper..

Your friend needs a bit more experience before he spouts off incorrect info..

either buy a caliper rebuild kit and rebuild it or get another caliper.. buy a used one of the board from a reputable source that knows it was not leaking. and also replace the rubber hoses when u do the job..

or better yet have someone push the brakes while u are under it and see where the fluid is actually leaking from

if u have a leak u are sucking air into the system thats a bad thing dont drive the car untill it is fixed
