Leading Plugs on TOP, --Yikes?
1988 GXL NA S4
So I'm gonna try out testing my compression tomorrow, and was eyeballing the spark plugs.
I notice that the top plugs (Closest to the hood) have L stamped on them, and the bottom plugs have T stamped on them.
From my brief preparation for the compression test, I read that the Trailing plugs should be on top.
Here's what they are (And they look clean/new from the outside)
Top 2 spark plugs:
NGK BUR7EQ L
Bottom 2 spark plugs:
NGK BUR9EQ T
Is this OK?
The car was sold as "Rebuilt Motor", and it sure drives fine.
The air pump's gone, valve actuators welded open (according to my town's resident RX7 mechanic), wide open CAI cone intake/ headers-no cat straight to mufflers out.
Thanks, i'm off to read more,
steve

switch them, in fact, replace them just to be safe. Stock plugs are cheap and the peace of mind is worth the $8. It may sound silly, but I just always tell myself that the "T" in trailing is for "Top" and the "L" in Leading is for "Lower". ('s up top, 7's on the bottom.
