the easiest thing to do is...

1. pull the retractor fuse

2. reach under the car you'll feel a long rubber piece and pull it down

3. turn the part that was under the rubber to make them the height you want them (you will have to do both headlights)

once you do this they will not be able to go up or down though they will have to stay there so i dont know if thats what you want but thats how you can do it, its the easiest way

and i saw a kit on ebay once but ya thats ebay...

I concur with the above post. It makes your headlights look broken. There are some sort of electronic gizmos to allow you to randomly select the height of the headlights from inside the cabin, but these are expensive, and again, make your car look broken. The free way was described above, and is fully reversible should you come to your senses later. Just to warn you, you risk flamage on this forum asking this question- it is generally asked by newb ricers who just saw FnF and have no better sense. In other words, frowned upon, as we do not drive 240's here.

♠the last thread someone asked about this, that thread got closed because alot of people didnt agree with it. .. hopefully this wont result that way.

Just a little history on sleepy eye, it was a mod done in japan originally in which the idea was to be a "ram" air scoopish simple mod. Eventually people started to like the look, it gives the car a more aggressive look.

Its mostly a cosmetic mod... and it looks good on mostly slammed or cars with bodykits, but only if the headlights are *low*
Only if your car has mods to back up the looks

Here is an example of a horrible look.. his sleepy eye is set too high
and his car looks like crap lol

I dont blame alot of people for not liking it when people like this do it, it gives the general idea a bad rep.

stock body cars are jsut poser, esp ford probes lol

it looks horrible on a stock car

uh, it looks horrible no matter how you cut it. unless you have a custom light setup that only requires that it be up halfway, its retarded. if you have anything but small custom headlights, it is TOTALLY useless because however you got them to be down that far, you have no headlight exposure and have to undo whatever you did in able to use your headlights.
and PLEASE explain how it makes it look more aggresive? and ram air? the headlight, linkage, oh, AND RADIATOR CORE SUPPORT is in the way.

peace

well guys can we at least stop the "it looks stupid" posts? i know its not for everyone, but thats how the last thread got closed. We all got different tastes.

to the topic poster, easiest way is to play wiht teh retractor fuse in the engine bay, You can do it simular to this, but just make 1 wired switch to replace the fuse http://youtube.com/watch?v=l2I6tuJ-7NU

Here is the no-cost way to do it, http://youtube.com/watch?v=FL9NYn9bEuc

Aside from the fact that it looks absolutely stupid, the "lazy eye" or "sleepy eye" mod is potentially hazardous. Unless you switch to an aftermarket light setup, that will allow you to disperse a decent amount of light from the barely-open slit, you're going to mess up your ability to see at night.

no one drives at night with sleepy eyes or leaves them on.. its just a cosmetic mod that is done during day time.

Its not for visual light output.

Hypertek, I like and respect you, and have FULL confidence that you understand that it's a cosmetic thing for during the day time.

With that said, I have NO distinct reason to believe the OP is so intelligent as to realize he can't leave his lights like that at night and drive. While I would not argue that he likely thinks it will improve visibility, I believe there is enough doubt as to when and how he will drive the car that such a warning is necessary.

It can look “ok” if set up well, but for the most part it just looks ghetto.
Most of the guys with this mod don’t flick them up at night, which is stupid.

If you still feel the desire to do it don’t just pull the fuse, wire up another switch or buy a height controller so you can retain use of your headlights in low light environments.

No.

J/k, man- but those ***** were put there by the factory IN CASE THE HEADLIGHT MOTORS FAIL. They are a redundant backup so you can raise your headlights in the event of the motors/fuse going out. They are not to adjust the direction of your headlights, there are two screws on opposite corners of the headlight itself- these can be accessed by raising the headlights (either manually with the *****/turn on headlights/headlight raise switch) and adjusting them as you would any other sealed beam headlight.

Thread cleaned. Please keep it clean. This one will be allowed since there has not been a thread like this for a while but keep in mind that "sleepy eyes" or "lazy eyes" are a very common topic and have been covered a million times.

So, your headlights ARE broken- I'd look into getting that fixed before asking about sleepy eye "mods".

Cool sleepy eyes!!

I know that newbes mostly are the ones that always ask this question and then the vets rag on them about how it looks broken and like crap. Not everyone is gonna like the same thing, so instead of telling him how bad it looks, let him decide... Okay, You take the guage cluster out just enough to see the wiring behind the headlight switch, you should take the dash piece below the steering column to give you room to work ,then find the wire that powers the headlights, buy a cut off switch at autozone for about 2 bucks, cut the wire and install the switch on it. now what you do is when you go to open or turn on your headlights you flip the switch and cut the power to them about half way( you might have to play with them to get them to the height of your liking)after that as long as you leave the switch on you can turn them on or off without changing the height. Pm me if you need wiring diagrams.

You want to adjust where the beam is going? That's EASY.

1. With the headlights up (but not on) take off the black shroud surrounding the headlight. You should see one screw below, and one screw to the side of the headlight that are made for adjusting where the headlights are aimed.
