my engine sounds like a lawnmower...
there was a hole in the air silencer hose so i took it off the air control valve completely. The car is running fine and everything, i just wanted to ask if there would be any negative side effects of running withought one untill i replace it. Will i be losing any much needed back pressure? Is it affecting the horsepower? anything? Besides the noise, the car runs/feels fine.
anyone know anything aboot this eh?

Your air-pump will make more noise. It's the "muffler" for it. The only thing that I would say is that one of your exhaust gaskets might be cooked away. Mine sounded like a weed-whacker when the Manifold Gasket dissolved. Find out where the sound is coming from; but, I say it's an exhaust leak.

I agree with IntroVert.

 

If its an exhaust leak it would gargle more than anything. but If there anything wrong thats probly it. but for me i could give a **** less how it sounds as long as it will beat an rb20det swap into a 240 sx.

 

that would explain why i show the same amount of care for my lawnmower as i do my rx
