lateral link bolt f'cked?

I dissassembled the rear subframe and im trying to put it back together but i cant put the nut on the lateral link. The side that connects to the control arm the bolt just twists with the nut. Is it broken?

I don't know exactly where you're talking about, a picture would help...

But a LOT of the rear susp. has through-bolts + nut... it's probably one of those... you might have thought it wasn't if the bolt was rusted to the chassis or something but then it broke free when you went to tighten or something... that's happened to me.

It's a taperd fitting. Like a balljoint. Come to think of it, it is a balljoint. Push down and tighten at the same time.
